Character profile:
As a chick, Yellow Red Black was quite nervous, but followed the carers well and closely. He is the sibling of Yellow White Black, Diamond - and, like her, exhibited some crazy 'hair' for a while as a youngster. He has been fitted with a back-pack data logger, as well as leg-mounted radio tag. He has a lovely dark, golden-brown speckled back... which will moult out to the pale grey of an adult crane during the winter. November 2014 update. Sadly the remains of yellow, red, black were found on West Sedgemoor in early November. He had been seen limping badly not long before he was found. The body appeared to be unmarked and an attack by a predator seems to have been unlikely. A full post mortem was carried out, but sadly he was too decomposed for cause of death to be ascertained.
