Easter Egg Collection 2011 - Done!

Amy, Beate and Damon collecting the last egg of the season.

All the team are now back in the UK after two weeks of egg collecting with the German team in the Scorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve.   26 eggs were collected and 24 transported back by car to the UK in two batches on 20th and 27th April.  (One egg was infertile and one egg addled and these were both left).  10 eggs have now hatched back at Slimbridge, with two chicks sadly dying at the time of hatching, and there are another 12 eggs still to hatch. Much more on this soon from Amy and Roland - and more on the crane project's face book pages!
