Character profile:

January 2015: Green Red Black (Pepé) is very protective of his food but otherwise is good natured, chilled out and enjoys being with the carers. He has no siblings.  He is one of a group of 9 birds that broke away from the main flock to spend around a month in Nov/Dec on Kingsmoor - and didn't return with the 9 when the rest did, preferring the company of Yellow Blue Black and a group of older birds in the Wetmoor area near Muchelney. July 2015: Pepe has spent the spring and summer mainly feeding on Northmoor (Aller) and Northmoor near East Lyng, and roosting most of the time on West Sedgemoor.  The whole non-breeding flock appear to be thriving on the Levels and Moors this year.  Nov 17:  Remained with the flock in Somerset throughout the year.          Sept 18:  Remained in Somerset but no pairing or breeding attempts made.  Observed on Allermoor with the flock on 9th August.    Sept 2019:  Remained in Somerset but no pairing or breeding attempts made.  Observed on Aller moor with the flock and also at WWT Slimbridge in late August.    2020:   Not seen during the Spring, Pepe was observed with Cookie in Dorset on 2nd June. No evidence of breeding but is was certainly possible that the pair made an attempt.  They were observed at WWT Slimbridge in August.  Pepe has been observed with the flock both on West Sedgemoor and at Slimbridge during the Autumn.   Sept 2021: There was no news of Pepe and Cookie during the breeding season until they returned to Slimbridge with 2 fledged juveniles in August.  One of the juveniles did not survive. It is possible that they nested at a site in Dorset as they had been recorded in that county in 2020.  They have been observed at Slimbridge in September.     Autumn 2022:   Cookie and Pepe remained at WWT Slimbridge over the winter and are assumed to be the pair known to have returned to their breeding site in Dorset.  They returned to Slimbridge without juveniles in early Autumn so any breeding attempt had failed.  They have been observed there during the Autumn.
