All settled in...

Blue Red Yellow "VIRIDOR" checking out her new surroundings.

The move went very smoothly yesterday, and the group of 19 cranes are looking calm, and very settled today. They also seem really well advanced, are all flying strongly, and compared to previous years, it feels like the group is much more of a bonded unit - with no birds exhibiting odd-ball or 'loner' behaviour.   A few minor adjustements are being done to the tracking equipment today, and we are looking at a release date in around 2 weeks time.  3 birds remain at Slimbridge for transport down to join the group at a later date.

Really really pleased to have them here now - and can't wait to get them out.   24 of the older birds were hanging about calling only a couple of fields away from the pen too...
