Crane monitoring

In the last couple of weeks the team have been closely monitoring the chicks as they integrate with the older birds. There have been some wonderful interactions taking place and now most of the chicks seem to have been accepted as part of the group. It is wonderful to see them looking so at home on the levels and moors. Here are a few images from the monitoring sessions.

Here are the adults visiting the enclosure, meeting the chicks for the first week of release. A typical view from our hide.

The adults making the most of the food we provide for the chicks whilst they are still inside the enclosure.

A beautiful evening on the levels and moors as the birds go to roost.

Crane monitoring really is a wonderful part of the job, especially when the day finishes with skies like this!
